SMG A/V Services Manager in Jacksonville, Florida
SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an A/V Services Manager. The A/V Services Manager is responsible for assisting the Technology Services Manager in providing technology leadership and management of Videoboards, control room and audio systems and services to include technology solutions provided to users, staff, clients and customers of the SMG-Jacksonville Managed Facilities. This includes assisting the management of strategic and tactical activities to ensure satisfaction, technical delivery, contract compliance and resource management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise the repair and maintenance of Daktronics, Nanolumens and Panasonic digital video boards with staff or contracted vendors
Coordinate and supervise all audio, video, CATV and production control room equipment and related hardware / software ensuring maintenance according to factory specifications or industry standards through staff or sub-contractors.
Coordinate audio-visual requirements and services with SMG event management staff, clients and tenants for in-house events, radio and television broadcasts.
Coordinate and supervise installation, maintenance and repair of all audio-visual equipment and cabling infrastructure (to include labeling and identifying use)
Provide necessary information for the proper purchase of preventative & corrective maintenance and capital purchases of systems.
Monitor system efficiencies and recommend appropriate solutions.
Provide event related maintenance, services and support.
Review, perform and maintain regular department work orders and equipment through the use of CMMS (SMG Maintenance)
Conduct regular inspections of work spaces to ensure proper housekeeping, safety and compliance exists for the protection of health, safety and rights of employees and the public.
Assists in the supervision of employees in the Technology Services Department. The Assistant Manager will assist in carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with SMG's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; rewarding; addressing complaints and assisting with the resolution of problems

Strong understanding of CATV solutions, broadcast electronics and A/V and production control room systems, equipment and related infrastructure
Be proficient in basic computer skills operating in standard Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite, email, CMMS and BAS programs. Strong understanding of Web and User Support Services.
Familiar with digital direct controls (DDC) and OSHA safety practices.
Must have overall understanding and experience in facility management, event industry experience preferred.
Must have attention to detail, ability to work independently with little supervision with good organizational skills to productively produce results and handle tasks as assigned in a timely manner. * Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, managing competing demands, frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
Must have strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude and be results driven.
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the City's driving requirements for City equipment.
Must have ability to possess and maintain current OSHA Forklift and Personnel Lift Certification.
Education and Experience
Minimum of an Associates' degree desired.
3-5 years of experience in the field of A/V and production control room technologies; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related industry preferred.
Prior management experience (2 to 3 years) preferred

Ability to understand and follow simple directions communicated both orally and written.
Ability to read basic written correspondence, plans, diagrams or gauges.
Ability to use hand tools common to Electrical work.
Ability to visually inspect and to distinguish colors.
Must be able to operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, turf mowers, scrubbers, sweepers and other light power driven equipment.

Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Weekly travel between building properties required.
