CEI Senior Project Engineer – Road Bridge Construction Inspection - Jacksonville or Orlando, Florida

PARSONS, one of the world's largest engineering/construction/construction management firms, has an immediate opening for a CEI Senior Project Engineer in the Jacksonville and Orlando Florida areas.

Opportunity :

The successful candidate will lead and direct the Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) teams on projects in Jacksonville or Orlando , Florida .

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for overall contract management, administration and coordination of CEI services on highway and bridge projects of a diverse and complex nature.

  • Full technical responsibility for interpreting plans and specifications, as well as organizing, executing and coordinating construction engineering and inspection assignments.

  • Responsible for monitoring construction schedules and assigning staff to determine that the contractor's activities are inspected and tested in accordance with contract documents.

  • Act as an on-site liaison and cultivate team building between the client, company personnel and the contractor in resolution of project issues at the lowest possible level.

  • Brief the client on project issues and provide possible solutions.

  • Make presentations to the Dispute Resolution Board in connection with project disputes.

  • Analyze complex construction and design problems and develop new or improved policies, methods, practices, and procedures.

  • Responsible for contract negotiations, budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting and overall profit/loss on a project.

  • Review work programs and lead business development efforts to win new work.

Requirements :

Required 4-year degree in Civil Engineering and registered ( PE) in the state of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months) with a minimum of 12 years of construction engineering and inspection experience on roadway and/or bridge projects.

Required qualifications include the ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing). Must be proficient or gain proficiency in various computer programs including FDOT utilized software and other word processing and spreadsheet programs, with specific experience in Primavera scheduling software.


  • FDOT Advanced MOT certification

  • Attend CTQP Quality Control Manager Course and pass the examination


Prior experience working on FDOT projects is highly desired.
