The Shared Services organization supports both the North America Retail Bank and Mortgage Businesses. It is tasked with leading efforts that are aimed at improving the client experience, driving organic client and revenue growth, and leading test and learn concepts to drive elements of the next generation business model. Specific functions within Shared Services include: Digital, Client Experience, Marketing, Decision Management, Sales Reporting & Goal Setting and Sky Branch. This role is part of the Business Initiatives team, which supports the full Shared Services organization.
The US Retail Bank and Mortgage (USRBM) Shared Services Business Initiatives team has responsibility, in part, for monitoring business activities, assessing for potential risk, assigning severity level, evaluating control effectiveness, assisting with control enhancement, and overseeing remediation activity to successful completion.
The team works with various internal organizations including Internal Audit, Operational Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, and Fraud, as well as other business control teams in the Global Consumer Bank, to support the USRBM Shared Services control environment.
The candidate for this position will be responsible for:
Contributing to the Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) program, including reviewing both systemic and manual processes, identifying and assessing risk, proposing new or evaluating existing controls, and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of those controls through continuous monitoring.
Identify and escalate potential areas of emerging risks and threats and design and implement strategies for mitigating operational or emerging risk.
Ensuring new or modified digital products or processes.
Ensure internal reviews by second and third lines of defense as well as examinations conducted by external regulators are well managed. This includes assisting with the clear ownership and documentation of risks and controls, timely deliverables, ensuring audit concerns/issues are fair, and corrective action plans are appropriate.
Helping to ensure that most issues are self-identified by the first line of defense and addressed timely with corrective action plans that no only fix the symptoms by address the root-cause so as to prevent recurrence
Developing and implementing key indicators for control effectiveness.
Working on ad-hoc control-related requests, as needed.

Experience with creating and championing change management.
Experience in risk control, process management, reengineering, audit, or consumer banking.
7+ years of direct, relevant experience in financial services or related field, with enhanced knowledge of the business and channels to be supported.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
General understanding of consumer banking regulations, a plus.
