The RN - Surgery delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Performs scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
Directly assists operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
Prepares operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Conducts sterilization, patient safety and room utilization orientation/training for staff.
Maintains clinical records of patient care, equipment logs, and supply requisitions.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date, or Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure required.
One or more of the following:
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. ACLS replaces the BLS.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required BSN preferred
- 1+ years RN Operating Room experience required; orGraduate from St Vincent's Peri-Operative Program.
